What We Believe
Our Tenents of Faith
This assembly accepts the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice. And for the purpose of maintaining unity, we proclaim these fundamental truths as our tenents of faith for Word of Life Ministries and all outreach members of this ministry.
- We believe in the one true God, who is the creator of all things.
- We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ who is the eternal Son of God.
- We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.
- We believe in the resurrection of the dead. Those that have fallen asleep in Christ will be resurrected with a glorified body and live in eternal happiness. Those that have died in their sin will be resurrected to face judgement and will be eternally separated from God in the lake of fire.
- We believe in the salvation of man through the atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Salvation occurs when one believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, repents of sin and receives Christ as the One and only Savior.
- We believe in the infilling power of the Holy Spirit, or the Baptism in the Holy Ghost (Spirit) which is accompanied by the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
- We believe in divine healing and that it was provided through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
- We believe in the sacred ordinances of the Church.
- Baptism in water by immersion is commanded in the Scriptures.
- Holy Communion is the Lord’s Supper consisting of the elements of bread and the fruit of the vine. These are symbols expressing our sharing in the divine nature of our Lord.
- We believe in the “Blessed Hope” of every believer, the imminent, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, who will return in glory to receive His redeemed unto Himself.
- We believe in a divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry which has been provided by our Lord for a two-fold purpose.
1.The evangelization of the world
2. For the edifying of the Body of Christ
