Meet the Pastor: Henry Taliercio

Formerly a participant in organized crime and drug addict from the age of eleven, this current pastor at Word of Life knows God has radically changed his life. After years of gambling and drugs, his life turned around but not until he hit bottom.  In the setting of an abandoned building that he called home, Henry awoke in a pool of blood. He had been stabbed multiple times with his own knife after attempting to rob a convenience store. Since Henry had no place to go, a friend took him to Teen Challenge.  It was there that he first saw people who really knew God, and he invited Jesus into his life.

Eager to minister to others, he attended Cornerstone University and Vision Christian College. For eight years he was the outreach director of a center in New York City. It was there that he became involved in evangelism counseling, ministering to the lost, and feeding the homeless.

Then, in 1995, God called him to Greensburg, Pennsylvania, where he became the Associate Pastor at Word of Life.  It was at this time that he met and later married Annie. With his wife by his side, Pastor Henry continues to reach out through our counseling ministry and Overcomers Group to those struggling in any number of addictions. God also uses this radically transformed life to oversee a diversity of ministries at Word including singles, young adults, and hospital visitation.
