Top Ten Things I Really Like –
- Children – Being with the children here at WOL is very important to me. Oftentimes I’ve held the cheeks of a beautiful little girl and remarked, “Isn’t that like looking into the face of an angel!” Indeed.
- Christmas – I put Christmas next on the list because children and Christmas seem to go together. Since I’m still a kid at heart, I think that’s why I love Christmas so much.
- Laughter – This of course would complete the trio of children, and Christmas … laughter goes without saying. The Bible says that a merry heart works like a medicine . . . let’s laugh more!
- Fall – My favorite season is fall. The beauty of the leaves, the coolness in the air, my wife’s pumpkin pie and apple cider! Jesus is coming back in the fall…I’m sure of it.
- Puppies and Kittens – How can you love children and not love puppies and kittens. How good our God is to give us such wonderful gifts of creation. Fluffy fur-balls of energy and playfulness . . . love it!
- Ice Cream – I’ve yet to meet a flavor I didn’t like! Of course, I like some more than others . . . black cherry vanilla at the Meadows. Thank you Lord for a little “scoop” of heaven here on earth!
- Football – I’m not a die-hard fan, but I can yell at the TV with the best of them when the Steelers are losing!
- Motorcycles – I like all bikes but I recently bought a beautiful Harley Heritage Softail Classic. Of course I asked my wife first . . . I think she likes it almost as much as I do. In fact, I got the “cold stare” when I said I was going to take off the back seat . . . I’ll never say that again!
- I really like hot cars. I’m talking “hot cars!” Corvettes, hot rods and muscle cars. I have said, “If I wasn’t pastoring, I would love to work in a shop that builds hot cars! I would work there for nothing if I could . . . just to learn! I really like hot cars!
- I like music! I play a number of different instruments . . . air guitar, air drums and air keyboard are my specialties . . . I’m really good at these three, but I can also play air-trumpet, air-sax and air-trombone.
