Jakob Freund, CEO and Co-Founder

Jakob is the co-founder and chief executive officer, and is responsible for setting a bold vision and strategy for Camunda. He is also the driving force behind Camunda’s global growth and cohesive company culture. Jakob co-authored the best-selling book, “Real-Life BPMN,” and is a sought-after speaker at technology and industry events. He holds an MSc in computer science from Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin.

Bernd Ruecker, Chief Technologist and Co-Founder

Bernd is the co-founder and chief technologist at Camunda. A skilled software developer, Bernd has implemented innovative, large-scale process automation projects within industry-leading enterprises — helping them fully utilize automation technology and adopt process automation paradigms that fit into modern architectures. He is the author of “Practical Process Automation,” the co-author of “Real-Life BPMN,” and is active on the technology speaking circuit. He holds an MSc in software technology from HFT Stuttgart.

Barbie Brewer, CPO

Barbie is the chief people officer at Camunda, where she leads talent acquisition, people operations, learning and development, and employee experience initiatives. Barbie is responsible for promoting Camunda’s culture and building its highly productive, diverse, and global remote workforce. She has more than 20 years of experience leading HR and people teams at companies including Safe Security, GitLab, Netflix, and ClickUp.

Clemens Morgenroth, CFO

Clemens is the chief financial officer, where he is responsible for Camunda’s finance, legal, and IT functions. His teams serve as the operational and administrative backbone of Camunda, providing vital services, data, and infrastructure that ensure seamless growth. Clemens brings a wealth of finance and operations leadership experience to his role, having held global executive positions at businesses including Sony Music Entertainment, BMG Rights Management, and Everwise.

Daniel Meyer, CTO

Daniel is the chief technology officer at Camunda, where he leads the product and engineering teams. He is the visionary behind some of Camunda’s biggest technological advancements, and is responsible for end-to-end development and maintenance of Camunda’s industry-leading products. An active speaker about automation and process orchestration, Daniel presents frequently at technology industry events. He holds an MSc in computer science from University of Potsdam.

Frederic Meier, Senior Vice President Sales

Frederic is the senior vice president of sales, where he leads the global sales strategy, partner channels, and sales engineering functions. He previously held the role of vice president of sales North America, driving Camunda’s successful expansion into the region before taking on a global sales leadership role. Frederic brings a wealth of expertise to Camunda’s executive team, backed by multiple post-graduate degrees in International Management from the University of Sydney and CEMS, along with a degree in Law.

Jennifer Kenyon, Chief of Staff to the CEO

Jennifer is the chief of staff to the CEO, where she translates the company’s strategic vision into execution. Her career experience spans various disciplines, with the common thread of fostering operational excellence and empowering teams to reach their full potential. Prior to Camunda, she worked in revenue leadership and operations roles at Cisco and Snyk.

Kurt Petersen, Senior Vice President Customer Success

Kurt is the senior vice president of customer success at Camunda, where he leads the  customer success, consulting, and support functions. He is responsible for helping customers realize the maximum value from their process orchestration and automation efforts. For more than two decades, Kurt led high-performing customer success and consulting teams focused on total customer satisfaction and value realization. Before joining Camunda, Kurt served as vice president of enterprise success at UiPath, and held leadership positions in consulting and customer success at companies including Sapient and Tungsten Automation.

Sarabeth Scott, Vice President Revenue Operations

Sarabeth is the vice president of revenue operations, where she shapes Camunda’s go-to-market (GTM) strategy, and leads a team to implement business processes and system enablement to support company strategy. She brings a wealth of knowledge about GTM strategy from her 25 years of experience in revenue leadership and corporate operations roles, most recently as vice president of revenue operations at technology companies Talkwalker and UpKeep.
